About
Renegade’s Meat Processing was established in 1978 by Billy Myers and focused on the processing of deer for the locals. As a fellow hunter and farmer, he created an establishment that reflected his standards and expectations for meat processing.
Over the years, Renegade’s Meat Processing has evolved to provide custom processing services for deer, cattle, swine, sheep, and goats. A custom slaughter facility is a slaughter facility that does not have a state or federal inspector on duty, which means that the meats from these facilities are not considered state- or federally-inspected meats. These establishments ARE regularly inspected (by the state) for overall sanitation, but the animals themselves are not inspected for disease.
In 2019, the present owners began to pursue Federal Inspection approval for Beef Processing. They began construction on the expansion of the facility to accommodate this goal in 2020 and we are proud to say that by February of 2025 Renegade’s Meat Processing achieved that goal and is now USDA certified to process Cattle.
All other animals are processed under the Custom Operation Inspections.

Got Questions?
We’ve Got Answers.
Everything you need to know before bringing in your animal—or picking up your order.
Will I get my own animal’s meat back?
Yes! The animal you bring in is the meat you take home. Each one is tagged with your name and phone number and kept separate throughout the entire process.
What do I need to do before dropping off a deer?
You must game check your deer before leaving it with us. Use the Outdoor AL app to complete the check-in.
How long do I have to pick up my meat after it's ready?
Freezer space is limited, so we kindly ask that you pick up your product within 5 days of being notified it’s ready.
Are the packages labeled for my freezer?
Yes, every package is clearly labeled for easy storage and identification in your freezer.
How is beef packaged?
All beef is vacuum sealed to preserve freshness and prevent freezer burn.
Do I get to choose how my deer is packaged?
Yes, we offer either paper wrap or vacuum seal options for deer processing.
Can I buy deer meat from you?
No, we only process deer for those who bring in their own. However, if someone forfeits their deer, we may offer it to someone on our waiting list willing to pay the processing fee.
How do you determine the processing cost?
We charge based on carcass weight—this is the weight after the skin, guts, head, and other parts have been removed.
Why does processing take time?
Cutting is a detailed process. We take the time to ensure we preserve the maximum amount of meat from your animal.
